BACKGROUND

(TRAILER) short animated film based on a poem by Chilean poet Pedro Alonso Retamal, exploring the Mapuche conflict through verse and image. Illustrations by Pablo Lineros were brought to life through animation, direction, and montage by Pedro Pablo Mora, using After Effects as the primary tool. The piece draws from the political and cultural weight of the poem, translating its language into a visual narrative that moves between illustration and motion without softening the source material.

Mari Ailla es un cortometraje animado basado en un poema del poeta chileno Pedro Alonso Retamal, que aborda el conflicto mapuche desde el verso y la imagen. Las ilustraciones de Pablo Lineros cobran vida a través de la animación, dirección y montaje de Pedro Pablo Mora. La pieza toma el peso político y cultural del poema y lo traduce en una narrativa visual que transita entre la ilustración y el movimiento, sin atenuar la fuerza del material de origen.
